Wild Art Wearables explores fiber and MORE

An exciting exhibit of wearables woven, stitched, embellished, fabricated, repurposed, and MORE! A fabulous grouping of creative thoughts from artists invited to share special ideas in art that could be worn, or came from wearables, or are portions of wearable techniques. Jewelry, clothing, cloth, sculpture are woven through the minds and artful products of these artists:

SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) artists including Dorothy Gehring & Meredith Grimsley Camille Orelli and Brian Spies & Madeline Spies display quilted kimono and jacket,Station Gallery instructors from the Fiber Workshop series, Jackie Thomas and Carol Cillo, will show pieces along with some of the participants of those workshops: Carol Byrne, Janet Sherman and Becky Wall, and upcoming workshop instructor, Deb Berkebile.

The Clinton County Arts Council has oered ber workshops over the past couple of years, some of those being conducted via zoom during the pandemic shutdown. We have many dedicated ber enthusiasts, so we are oering a workshop this year in conjunction with this exhibit. You will see quilted works by Ohio artist Deb Berkebile in the exhibit, but she will also be our instructor for an Indigo Itajime Shibori Dyeing workshop to be held on Saturday, October, 9 at the Station Gallery.

This exhibit will also be showing a number of intriguing original jewelry pieces created by a student/professor group out of Millersville University; Kimberly Auger, Ashlyn Aumiller, Amy Edwards, Gail Bower Geist, Emily McComsey, Becky McDonah, Oscar McDonah, and Mary Kay Witmer. These highly skilled jewelers tell a story and delight the eye with fabricated metal jewelry.
