Brain Burst Creative Mini Show

THEME: TBD
LEADER: TBD

The Clinton County Arts Council is offering a new series of art experiences called "Brain Burst!" Why? To push the artists past their own comfort limits, stretch the imagination and create an open forum for pure creativity. A theme will be given two weeks ahead of time, and participants will take that theme and create a work of art from any genre or media for a two-day show. Nothing is formal. No framing is necessary. No money is needed. No specific medium is selected. It can be visual or performing arts, movies, photos, music, readings, etc. All creative art will connect to the theme, and participants may discuss what they see and hear at the end of the evening in a constructive discussion.

Station Gallery Shutterflies Photography Camp

The week-long day camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, July 18-22. It will accommodate up to 15 youngsters. The registration fee is $20. The camp enables 15 children, or "Station Gallery Shutterflies," to learn the basics of digital photography, identify a subject or theme and create a photography space. The students will create a final project, such as a portfolio or calendar, as a souvenir.

This year’s Station Gallery Shutterflies photography camp will be led by photographers Dave and Lynne Becker, who have owned and operated Becker’s Photography studio since 1982.
At the end of the week-long camp, students will choose an image from their portfolio they deem worthy of display, and they will learn to frame the photograph. Following the camp, the finalized 15-photo collection will be displayed at The Station Gallery during a final exhibit. Woodlands Bank, the county and Clinton County Community Foundation will be recognized during the exhibit.
